Feel Great In My Skin!

Hi All~
This year has been great for me.  I am very happy to have found Beachbody and the chance it gave me to stay home with my kids.  The Best part was I had the chance to help myself feel better in my skin and I Took advantage of it!

I like, so many have tried this fad or that pill or just eat this thing, types of ways to lose weight and feel great.  Well Beachbody has made it possible for the ordinary person to finally achieve their fitness and health goals and I am so excited to be part of it all.    I am excited because it has WORKED for me!

A year ago I would watch the P90X infomercial and think ~ "ya right I could never do that".  Now, I will be starting P90X2 in January!!!!!  This has evoked a new sense of " I FEEL GREAT" attitude in me and I want to share it with everyone. :)  I was the one a couple years ago wishing and wanting to just feel comfortable with myself.  I hated how my skin folded in on top of eachother, (yuck).  But now that is behind me because I put the work in to do something about it.

I hope I can help someone else like me to Feel Great In their own Skin again!  It is not something you do or try for a week them give up on.  That would mean you Give Up on Yourself. :(  This is a new way of life you have to be in it for the long haul!!!  To feel great and stay young you will want to adopt this new way of living and eating. Just to be able to keep up with your kids or to be able to look great for a special day. Once you find a way to make it work for you, you will not ever want to go back to where you were.
Look at me now ~ I have done a workout with Tony Horton!!  I will be starting PX2 on Jan. 2, 2012 - like I said earlier.  If I can come this far in less than a year, What Can you Put your mind to do and Achieve??

I would love to hear from you :) What are your goals?

How Long Will Team Beachbody Continue?

Direct from our CEO, Carl Daikeler

Somebody asked me the other day how long I would keep working to build Team Beachbody if it doesn’t quickly meet my goal of a million coaches helping 100 million people. The question is fair, but it shows a misunderstanding of my intent behind the effort to build the Team Beachbody Coach network.

It is not just about a means to grow the business. It is not a clever way to sell more product.
I believe that in over a century of declining health, we have found the way to get people healthy again: Real Fitness + Real Nutrition + Peer Support + Financial Rewards.
It’s not an easy sell, because it takes work. It takes the realization that the least expensive way to stay healthy is to make sure that we’re feeding our body TRULY substantial nutrition. And it means that we can no longer expect anyone to exercise, eat better, and understand the difference between quality nutrition and pretend nutrition without the courage of someone standing up for it. Those who do put that together deserve to be well paid for it. And I see that formula getting people healthy every single day.
It’s not just about a new miracle fitness product. It’s not just about a simple way to cut calories. It’s not just about a business model that might or might not work.

The Team Beachbody formula is how people get healthy, regain their vitality, and achieve a healthy fulfilling life. Asking me how long I will keep promoting Team Beachbody is like asking Magellan how long he is going to tell people the earth is not flat, AFTER he sails around the globe. The earth is not flat. Whether everyone believes it or not.

Fitness + Nutrition + Peer Support + Financial Rewards = Success, whether a million people sign up to advocate it or not. Whether some people experience it but then decide to promote a gimmick to make a buck or not, there are no short cuts to real success and a strong metabolism. This is what I have seen work, so this is what I promote. Team Beachbody is here to stay. Whether it grows fast or grows slow.

There will always be a those of us who have made it our mission to Help People Achieve Their Goals To Lead Healthy Fulfilling Lives.

Are there faster ways to make money? Ask the fast food companies. Are there easier ways to sell weight loss? Just walk through the diet section of the grocery store. Is there another way to end the trend of obesity? No… It is Real Fitness + Real Nutrition + Peer Support + Financial Rewards = Success. Team Beachbody is here to stay.

All that is needed to become a Beachbody Coach is a true belief in the products, and a desire to help others lose weight, get in shape, and change their lives. These are the characteristics of people who do well in this business. Of course, anyone can join, even if they don’t know anything about the products. On rare occasions, someone can signup that is an experienced marketer or has a huge list, and do very well in this business, but I’ve found that those who actually use Beachbody products, and have seen the results firsthand, are the ones who end up succeeding.

8 Tips for Avoiding the Holiday Pounds

By Stephanie S. SaundersIt's that time of year. The leaves turn majestic hues of red and gold. The air becomes fresh and crisp. We can finally put an extra blanket on the bed and cuddle up with a cup of hot tea. Yes, it's fall. We just spent 8 months killing ourselves to get into that bathing suit, but now we've replaced it with a worn pair of jeans and a much more relaxed attitude towards food. After all, it's the holiday season, and no one'll notice a few extra pounds under layers of clothes. A little extra weight just gives us a New Year's resolution to focus on, right?
Wrong. According to a study by researchers at Sweden's Linköping University, those 4 weeks of celebrating can actually lead to long-term weight gain.
Essentially, the researchers took a group of healthy young people, increased their caloric intake by 70 percent, and lowered their exercise levels. They also had a control group whose diets weren't altered. At 4 weeks, the participants in the test group had gained an average of 14 pounds. After 6 months, and no longer on an increased-calorie diet, only a third of these participants had returned to their original weight. After 1 year, the test group members were each still an average of 3.3 pounds heavier. After 2 and a half years, the "gluttonous" group continued to gain, while the control group still maintained a stable weight.
Now, most of us don't increase our calories that drastically for 30 days straight. Sure, there's Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving leftovers, Hanukkah, the work Christmas party, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day, not to mention the extra sweets, cocktails, and (ahem) fruitcake. But according to the New England Journal of Medicine, the actual average weight gain over the holidays is only 1 pound. (They obviously didn't poll my family or friends.) So what's the big deal? The problem is, a year later, the vast majority of people have not removed that pound. Continue this pattern over 30 or 40 holiday seasons and the problem becomes—quite literally—huge.
So how are we supposed to get through the holidays without gaining weight? Here are eight effective ways to get yourself ready to beat the holiday bulge.

  1. Buy clothes that fit right now. This first tip might be a bit pricy, but it's a great motivational aid in staving off weight gain. A new addition to your wardrobe in a size that shows off your summer body can be all you need to prevent those extra pounds from creeping on. Imagine that beautiful holiday dress or great pair of pants, then imagine being unable to zip them up thanks to sugar cookies. Yeah, no one wants that. So before you begin the festivities, go buy yourself something perfect to wear to your parties and hang it someplace visible, so it serves as a constant reminder. Perhaps on the TV where you play your P90X®,INSANITY®, or TurboFire® videos, or in front of that treadmill that might be starting to collect a little dust in the corner, or on your refrigerator door . . . that way, if it doesn't fit quite the same way the next time you try to slip into it, you know it's time to get back to work.
  2. Write it down. We try to write down everything we eat, right? We spend countless hours each month staring at a food diary, adding up our calories, and seeing if we got the correct balance of macronutrients. And then the holidays happen, and our little book ends up in the bottom drawer. It's almost like we're hoping that if we didn't write it down, it didn't happen. Unfortunately, the scale doesn't fit in that bottom drawer. The truth is, if we would write down the not-so-perfect meals and treats, we could find a way to compensate for them, at least a bit. For example, you have a peppermint brownie in the break room at work, which you know is carbohydrates and fat. Eat one less portion of carbohydrate and one less portion of fat for your dinner. It's not ideal, but it'll help. Or perhaps you couldn't resist Mom's homemade scones for breakfast. You could plan on an extra 20 or 30 minutes of your workout tonight. The point is, if we write it down, and do the math, we can lessen the damage. It isn't a good long-term plan, but to help compensate for a few slip-ups, it can help.
  3. Keep exercising. Most fitness trainers will tell you the slowest point of their year is between Thanksgiving and New Year's. Sure, their clients schedule workouts with the best of intentions, but then they cancel them for parties and gift shopping. It's hard to remain balanced when you have a million things to do and gifts to buy. Yet the greatest gift you can give yourself is to stay focused on your fitness goals and get your workout in. Shopping getting in the way? Do it online and save some time. Parties getting in the way? Just show up later. Who cares if everyone else is a couple of cocktails ahead of you? You'll be healthier, and you won't have to worry about the embarrassing YouTube® videos in the morning. Just stay consistent, even if it's inconvenient. You'll be much less likely to look like Santa (both belly-wise and red-nose-wise) at the end of the month.
  4. Eat before parties. Most holiday parties don't focus on low-fat, low-calorie refreshments, so unless you're organizing the event, the best damage control is to show up with a full tummy. Make sure you eat your meals and snacks throughout the day, and try to eat a healthy meal before attending any party. If you're going straight from work, prepare a healthy and filling snack to eat on the way. You'll be a lot less likely to swim in mayonnaise dips and pigs in blankets if you're full.
  5. Get junk out of the house. The majority of people don't get into their car at midnight, drive to the store, buy the ingredients for cookies, bake them, and then stay up to eat them. But if those homemade cookies that Linda in accounting made for you are already on your kitchen counter, you better believe you'll find a way to justify it. Frankly, at 12:30 AM, after a rotten day, for most of us there's nothing like a few cookies to drown our sorrows. The secret is to get the garbage out of the house. Send it to work with your significant other, donate it to a bake sale, re-gift it to your 100-pound friend with the perfect metabolism, or just dump it in the trash. Linda will never know. If you have holiday dinner leftovers, box them up for your guests individually and send them home with them. If your family still sends you that Pepperidge Farm® cookie assortment, invite a bunch of people over for a pre-party party and serve 'em up before the drinks. Try not to be wasteful, but get the less-than-healthy temptations out of your reach.
  6. Offer to prepare healthy fare. This suggestion won't be well received by those of us who'd rather spend Thanksgiving sitting around watching football than toiling in the kitchen, but if you do the cooking, you have the control. Your family could have a tasty and satisfying meal without ingesting thousands of calories and fat grams. The way the turkey is prepared, the type of stuffing, how vegetables are made, whether the cranberries are real, and countless other things can make or break the healthiness of a meal. There are tons of cookbooks out there, plus recipes in this and past newsletters, that can help you out. Yes, it does require a bit of work. But you're part of the Beachbody community. You can do anything!
  7. Choose wisely and proportionally. Something occurs during a holiday meal. It's like a Las Vegas buffet—we feel like we have to eat some of everything. We feel almost like those foods will never exist again, and this is our last meal on the planet. This year, why not try to eat only your favorites, as in two or three items, and keep the portions to the size of your palm? If you're still hungry, try to fill up on veggies (preferably ones that aren't drowned in butter or cream-of-mushroom soup). If you want dessert, lean toward a small slice of pumpkin pie (220 calories) as opposed to pecan (a heftier 543), leaving out the hydrogenated nondairy whipped topping if possible. If you're going to have an alcoholic beverage, go with a flute of champagne (100 calories) as opposed to that rum-laced eggnog (with more than four times more calories, at 420). Just a few wise choices will save you a ton of calories, and probably a significant amount of heartburn as well.
  8. Don't beat yourself up. Quite possibly the worst thing you can do is beat yourself up over a bit of holiday indulgence. Yes, it does stink to backslide after working your tail off. But sometimes it doesn't stink as much as dealing with your mother when you turn down her brisket and potato pancakes. Sometimes, we don't have time to go to work, buy a Christmas tree, decorate it with our kids, make dinner, oversee homework, tuck kids in bed, and spend an hour doing our Beachbody workout of choice. We can only do our very best. Mentally beating yourself up will only make you feel worse, which never helped anyone get back to their fitness program. So if you happen to gain that 1 extra pound this holiday season, be part of the rare group who actually follows through with their New Year's resolution and manages to shed it again. A week of hard work and a slight calorie deficit should do the trick. Resolutions don't come easier than that!
A wise person once said, "The toughest part of a diet isn't watching what you eat. It's watching what other people eat." That really is the crux of the problem with dining out in public. When you're surrounded by people who are consuming the equivalent of their body weight in fat grams, it's really tough to stick to that chicken breast and steamed veggies. But if you have a game plan, you're more likely to walk out with both a satisfied tummy and a satisfied mind. So spend a few minutes on researching, on eating, and on exercising beforehand, and be strong when you get there. The effort will be worth it, and you might even be an inspiration to your dining partner. What greater reward is there than that? Oh, yeah—a six-pack.

Beachbody and Network Marketing???

Being involved in Network Marketing I’ve found that many people have negative preconceived notions about this business model. Many people say, “it’s a pyramid scam”. I still can’t figure out how it could be considered a “pyramid scam”. First of all, pyramid scams are illegal and I doubt a profitable multi million dollar company, such as Beachbody, would want to get involved in something like that. The network marketing business model has been around over 60 years and and has helped create huge, profitable companies. The top 2 cosmetics companies, Mary Kay and Avon, both use the Network Marketing business model. Tupperware was on of the first companies to use this business model nearly 60 years ago. Amway still is the top online global seller of supplements. Sprint, MCI and AT&T make their long distance phone service available through Network Marketing companies. The A.L. Williams Company utilized Network Marketing and astounded the insurance industry by outselling Prudential, a giant in the industry, in four short years.
Network Marketing is the new way to financial freedom. You’ll never create residual income and freedom from the traditional job. Even professionals are trading their time for money; if they are not seeing clients or patients, they are not getting paid. Most income is temporary and it is easy to determine if your income is temporary – just stop working for 90 days. If your income stops or slows down, you have temporary income. With Beachbody, you’re able to make sales, generate team volume, and make money while you are asleep, on vacation, or at your kid’s soccer game.
I’ve taken the below right from Carl Daikeler’s, (founder and CEO of Beachbody) Blog:
Carl Daikeler wrote- So when people ask me “Why Network Marketing”, I respond that it is an imperative. Growth is one thing, contribution is another. This business model has both, and instead of one giant company, we’re going to be a company of a million coaches, each their own independent company, helping 100 million people get healthy and fit. That’s what we will achieve, and that’s why network marketing is a priority!
I also found this on Carl’s Blog in the comments section:

Though there may be certain benefits of the coach network, I think it’s a net loser for Beachbody. Even for die hard, loyal customers like me, the whole coach thing wreaks of a multi-level marketing scam. I believe you’re well-intentioned, but the coach set-up appears unscrupulous from the outside. In the end, I think it leads to people doubting the integrity of your fitness programs, and that’s too bad because they are absolutely the best DVD workouts available. If I were you, I’d ditch the coach network and put more resources into keeping your customers happy by improving customer service and shipping.

First, thanks for your business. As far as looking like a scam goes, that’s what they said about infomercials… but we’ve shown that a marketing medium of ill-repute isn’t what’s guilty, it’s simply misused by unscrupulous people. Look at the P90X infomercial. It’s more entertaining than most of the stuff I see on TV! And it’s promoting a product that’s getting people into incredible shape.
Network marketing as a business model has been abused for decades. But the power of people-helping-people is undeniable. The last the society needs is a giant “Wal-Mart of fitness”. What I think is needed is a million people with an incentive to help those around them incorporate fitness and portion control into their lives. We’ve created that incentive. And that incentive, combined with “absolutely the best DVD workouts available” (thank you!) plus constant improvements in customer service and shipping equals a revolution in health and fitness.
All I know for sure is, many of the people who get involved are making money helping people succeed where they failed with fitness and weight loss for years. That’s a win worth perpetuating. And that’s why this is so important to see through. My prediction is that in five years, people will look at this business model and wonder why gyms were ever so popular in the first place.

TURN YOUR FITNESS INTO A BUSINESS TODAY!

Network Marketing 4 Year Plan VS Traditional Business 40 Year Plan

Let's take a look at how the majority of us are living our lives. For 30-40 years most of us go to a job every day that we hate, barely making enough to pay our bills. Overtime, we give up on our dreams and become complacent to what we have achieved in our life. We stop chasing our dreams, we stop learning, and we give up entirely on any personal growth or development.
This quote below is taken directly from the book, My First Year in Network Marketing, by Mark Yarnell.
“By age twenty five, most people have an idea of what profession they’ll enter, anything from a fishing guide to a surgeon. But forty years later, out of a typical 100 people, 5 are still working, 36 are dead, 54 are dead broke (or at least earning far less than when they were employed), 4 are well off, and 1 person is wealthy. Thus, the forty-year plan means that for four decades most of us go back and forth, like a silly, sick, caged lion … and yet at the end of that time only 1 out of 100 has something to show for it!”

AND THINGS ARE GETTING WORSE

The video above is very sad. People’s lives have been crushed. Although the video is mostly about investing into a 401k, it also talks about the downturn of the economy and how getting laid off or losing a job can turn your financial situation into disaster. This reinforces the fact that working for someone else is the biggest financial risk someone can take. We all have the opportunity to be our own bosses and to take back control of our lives and finances.
Instead Of Working Hard For 40 Years, Work Hard For 4 Years…
With network marketing, it is possible to work hard for one company for 4 years and build an income based on the honest movement or products or services, and be set for life. While 4 years may be very ambitious, it is possible to do. I don’t want to give false hope or imply that it is something that is easy to do. As with any business or industry, there will be some learning involved that requires time and effort, but it well worth it. While author Mark Yarnell claims it is possible to achieve in 4 years, it may require up to 10 years of hard to work to earn enough residual income to consider yourself independently wealthy, 10 years is still much better than working hard for 40 years for someone else, and ending up with nothing.

“Stop building someone else’s dream and start building your own”

More To Think About

Most network marketing businesses have very little to no risk. Most “brick and mortar” businesses require significant capital before you can even hang up a sign. This is not the case when joining a network marketing business. This is a significant fact because it enable anyone to be able to join and in the competitive world of home businesses and franchises, we have no equals other than other network marketing businesses.

Another great aspect of being part of a network marketing business is that there is literally no ceilings or limits on the amount of income that can be earned. Most workers are paid by the hour or a fixed salary and there are only so many hours in a day, which limits how much they are able to make. Even high paid professions have limits to how much can be made, a lawyer can only bill so many hours in a day and a doctor can only perform a handful of surgeries in a day. Some great people working in traditional business haven’t had a raise in ten years. But, in our case, we can create a raise for our family everyday if we choose. Since we can sponsor an unlimited number of people who can each do the same, we are ultimately paid on the efforts of hundreds of thousands individuals. The fact that it is possible to earn 10K a week, or 100K a month is very exciting. I’ve personally met people that are making that kind of money and even more, so I know it is possible.

Shakeology -Vegan Style is coming Soon!

Since becoming a Beachbody Coach I have had too many inquiries to count about Shakeology being vegan and customers and Beachbody Coaches alike wondering when a vegan Shakeology would be available. I knew plans for a vegan Shakeology were in the works, but did not have a specific date until now! A VEGAN Shakeology will be available sometime in the first quarter of 2012, most likely in January.

http://beachbodycoach.com/esuite/home/MrsBeachFit?bctid=1009394794001

The vegan diet is becoming more and more popular as the benefits of it are being talked about. Research is being done and people are starting to conver to veganism. Eating a vegan diet is healthy for the human body. There are many benefits to being vegan which include:
  • Healthy Weight Loss
  • Higher Energy Levels
  • Healthier Skin
  • Longevity
  • Less Body Odor
  • Reduction in Bad Breath
  • Healthier Hair
  • Reduction in PMS Symptoms
  • Alleviates Allergy Problems
  • Prevents Disease
  • And much more
While I am not a vegan or vegetarian after reading the list of benefits above I am not against it in any way. Our bodies deserve the best food and nutrition possible and if that option is vegan, so be it!
Many people don't know the difference between vegan and vegetarian. A vegan does not eat anything that comes from a living animal. The major difference between a vegan and a vegetarian is dairy consumption. A vegetarian will eat a slice of cheese pizza while a vegan will not.
It seems like it would be difficult to be 100% vegan. Your options are limited if you are travelling or on the road. It seems as if most meals would have to be perfectly planned. The new Vegan Shakeology will be a healthy snack or meal option that is easy to take anywhere. The best news yet is that the Vegan Shakeology will be a Tropical flavor and is supposed to be the best tasting of the 3 Shakeology flavors!
Vegan Shakeology Coming Soon!

Put it all out on the table.

I really like this post from Jillian Michaels- She is famous for just Telling it like it is.

Listen, getting in shape is all about setting goals. Losing weight, building muscle, and getting rid of the unhealthy eating habits take guts and perseverance. You're dealing with something big here. When you decide what you want, make it specific and concrete. For example, don't just say that you want to lose weight. Ask yourself some questions: How much weight? And is weight really the most important thing? Or is it more important that you climb your front steps with ease or lower your body-fat ratio? Think hard about what you want, and use your journal to keep track. Once you've figured out where you want to go, here's how you're going to get there:
Learn how to make decisions you can stick with. Remember, you're not just going on a diet, you're establishing a pattern of health that will enhance the quality of your life. Think big, but choose small, attainable goals — lose five pounds to start or fit into pants one size smaller — and build on those goals as you reach each one.
Allow yourself room for setbacks. One setback is only one setback — it's not the end of the world, nor is it the end of your journey toward a better you. You don't have to give up. Just get back on the bandwagon and keep going.
Walk the line between self-denial and self-indulgence. It's the middle ground between the two that will offer you the best foundation for building your new life. Maintain your discipline by allowing yourself little pleasures every now and again.
Understand that there are no mistakes. The things you used to think of as mistakes are now just learning experiences, so don't waste time beating yourself up. You'll encounter small failures — everyone does. But you'll achieve success too. Just remember, every pound you gain can be lost.
Keep in mind that faith in yourself and your work is what will keep you striving for the best. Now, get in the zone and push as hard as you can!

Don't Feel like you cannot keep up with a Healthy lifestyle.  We all need support and motivation and That is what I am here for. Contact me for support.
Have a Happy Healthy Day!

Is it Possible to Make A Million $ with As a Beachbody Coach???

A million dollars a year is a lot of money. If we break it down to a daily amount it comes out to 2739.73 dollars a day. All you need to do to earn a million dollars is figure out how to make $2739.73 a day. But, what job pays that much?

Let's break it down to hourly. To earn a million dollars a year earning an hourly wage you would have to make a little under $343 a hour and work 8 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day the entire year. Upon doing a little research I couldn't find many jobs that pay that kind of hourly wage. To earn a million dollars a year you need to be a professional athlete, an actor or celebrity of some kind, own a profitable company or be the CEO of a large company. Those are the most common ways to earn a million dollars a year so how the heck can a Beachbody Coach earn a million dollars a year? How is it possible to earn that kind of income selling P90X and Shakeology? It just doesn't make sense.

I'm very happy to inform you that not only is it possible, it has been done. In the link below you can see the highest and lowest earnings of the different ranks of Beachbody Coaches. In the chart you can see that the highest amount a Beachbody Coach earned in 2010 was $1,052,383.

http://www.beachbodycoach.com/uploads/fckeditor/mdbody/File/downloads/statement_of_independent_coach_earnings.pdf

As you can see from the numbers on the earnings pdf it is possible to make some serious cash as a Beachbody Coach, but how is it possible?

Beachbody Coaches have the opportunity to build a large income because they are able to use leverage to build a large organization of coaches. Leverage is the key component in obtaining wealth. In regular companies, business owners leverage employees who are willing to work for a hourly wage. But Beachbody's business model is much different than a regular corporation. It would be a rare occassion for a business owner to train an employee with the hope that the employee would someday surpass him or her. In most cases an employee never has the opportunity to earn more than the owner of the company. If an employee wants to earn more money the only option the employee has is to start his or her own company, and then would be direct competition to their former boss. This is why owners never really share their secrets or train employees to their full potential, out of fear that they will someday lose them and be their direct competition. This is very common in real estate, the construction business, the financial industry and many other industries.

On the other hand, in Beachbody's business model, when someone brings a new coach into the business, it is actually beneficial to the sponsor if the new coach does well. So the sponsor will do everything they can to make sure the new coach gets trained properly, and the sponsor will also share any secret tips or methods they use. Network marketing is a unique business because it is the only business where you would route for your distributors to do better than yourself. It comes down to real team work because if the sponsoree doesn't do well then the sponsorer doesn't do well. The sponsorer has a vested interest in seeing their sponsoree do well.

I'm not saying making a million dollars in this business is easy, in fact, I will say that it is hard. It takes some real work. Things will have to be learned and there will be ups and downs. But the fact that it is possible and can be done is very motivating. The possibility of earning a million dollars a year at your every day 9-5 office job doesn't exist. It doesn't matter how hard you work, even after 30 years, there is no way you can make that kind of money working for a hourly wage or salary, for someone else. Even with all the over time in the world. And who wants a life full of overtime? The fact is kind of depressing when you think about it, to be limited in what you can earn and what you can do. It depresses me which is why I became a Beachbody Coach and will be a 15 Star Diamond making over a million dollars by the end of 2012. More and more people are starting to see the benefits of network marketing and the industry continues to grow year after year. Are you ready to change your life?

The few who do are the envy of the many who only watch.

Have you heard of Excersice Induced Asthma?

Exercise-induced asthma (EIA) is a form of asthma that is triggered by physical activity. Asthma causes inflammation and sensitivity of the small airways of the lungs. When triggered by exercise or other environmental substances, the lung's airways can spasm or constrict.

When I was in 5th grade I signed up for Track.  Even though I did get through that year without dropping out of Track. I spent the time after practice coughing so much I had to leave class to try to catch my breath.
I was never taken to the Doctor for this problem, everyone just thought I needed to take it easy and get a drink of water. It is such a terrible feeling not being able to catch a full breath.  Especially at a young age and no one knowing what or why it's happening.

Now being older and trying to run again I still get the same symptoms.  I would love to start running mini Marathones' but I've always held back because of how I feel after the run. I can do a round of TurboFire with absolutely no breathing issues. I still need to see a Doctor about this but I love having the ability to get information online.  I first studied this and found out it was a real thing about 6 years ago when I was taking a Medical Terminology class. It made such a difference for me to put a Name to the Symptom.  I know I am most likely not the only one experiencing these issues so I wanted to put it out there for others to know.
Below you will find more information about Excersice Induced Asthma (EIA).

People with exercise-induced asthma typically experience asthma symptoms only when they exercise. Exercise-induced asthma is more common when the weather is cold and dry, or the level of pollution or allergens in the air is high. It is also more common in those with poor physical conditioning or respiratory infections.

Symptoms of Exercise-Induced Asthma:

Symptoms of EIA vary from person to person, but the most common symptoms include:
  • wheezing
  • coughing
  • shortness of breath
  • chest tightness
  • fatigue
  • decreased athletic performance

Controlling Exercise-Induced Asthma

Exercise-induced asthma is best managed when a patient and their doctor work together to identify, eliminate, and control triggers. Choose the most effective preventative and maintenance medications, and have an asthma emergency plan.
Exercise-induced asthma is often treated with the same medications used for a standard asthma diagnosis. The most common medications prescribed for EIA include short-acting inhaled bronchodilators that are used prior to exercise in order to relax and open up the airway. Other medications your doctor may prescribe include longer acting bronchodilators, mast cell stabilizers, and leukotriene modifiers.

Know Your Asthma Triggers

To manage exercise-induced asthma, it's important to know what triggers your asthma symptoms. For example, if your symptoms occur most often during strenuous activity in cold, dry air, you may need to exercise indoors during the winter or wear a scarf or face mask when you exercise outside. Other things you may need to do include adjusting your routine during high pollution and high allergen days, or stop exercising when you feel tired, or have a cold or other illness.

Improved physical conditioning has been shown to decrease the incidence of asthma attacks. For this reason, those with asthma are encouraged to continue exercising. Another key to minimizing symptoms of exercise-induced asthma during sports are to be sure to perform a thorough warm-up before workouts. Ten minutes of gradually increasing exercise is the minimum someone with asthma should do before working out intensely.

Managing an Asthma Attack

If an asthma attack does occur, it's important to act quickly to stop the episode. Asthma attacks can occur very suddenly and dramatically and can also subside quickly when the trigger is either removed or medication is administered. Here are the steps to take to treat an asthma attack:
  1. Stop all activity and try to stay calm.
  2. Get away from or remove any obvious triggers (smoke, dust, cold temperatures).
  3. If you have prescription medication, take it.
  4. Try to slow or control any erratic breathing.
  5. If the symptoms continue, get medical attention quickly.
Exercise-induced asthma doesn't have to keep you from physical activity. In fact, exercise is an important part of your treatment plan. Many successful athletes have exercise-induced asthma that they control with a combination of medication and environmental control. You too can remain healthy and physically fit with proper education and use of medication for your asthma.

Just Starting to Get Healthy/ Take it 1 step at a time!

Getting Healthy is not a quick diet fix. It takes time to develop healthy habits. I've been on this journey to healthier living for 6 months now.  Everyday there are new temptations. Especially with kids around, they want all the sweet stuff. The point is It Can Be Done, and You CAN make healthy changes. Some will be easier than others.
Below are just a few tips that I have incorporated into my every day life.
  1. Drink Water!  I know you hear this everywhere. Water is great, easy to carry, refreshing and Yes even the Kids will drink it. It helps you when you think you are hungry but actually just thirst, and it's necessary for your muscles.
  2. Cut out the Soda!  We did this years ago. Yes- we still drink some occasionally but not day to day. It's a special occasion drink. My girls know that and are good with it. You just Have to make it a rule.  (We drink - fruit juices, teas, milk, Gatorade and water)
  3. Use Extra Virgin Olive Oil! I started to this about 6 months ago. I found that it is healthier to cook with and gives us the good fats that help sustain a healthy lifestyle.
  4. I Do Not buy Diet Foods! Not all diet foods are good for you. You need to Read the labels. Also I don't buy a lot of non-fat or low-fat food. Some fats are healthy. You need those to help you absorb vitamins into your body.
  5. Cook with lots of spices! This helps keep the salt content lower.  It also makes for very tasty food.
  6. Cook at home as much as possible! This is the best way to know what you are putting into your body. I shop at the local farmers market almost weekly. That is the best way to shop for your veggies.
If you are looking to make healthy changes to your life, I encourage you to pick 1 or 2 things to work on. Don't try to do it all at once, give it some time. That is the best way for the healthy habits to stick.

Also remember I am here to help you.  Don't hesitate to contact me for any questions or concerns. Or if you just need some motivation.

No magic pill- Strength Train!

Everyday I see ads for Diet pills and it Always upsets me. Even when I was at my heaviest I didn't use those things. Sure I was tempted, they make it look so easy to look so good, but I knew they are not healthy!  I've always tried to be a fairly reasonable with what I put into my body.  Even more so now that I am a mom of two young girls. I have to be the best remodel they can have.  Taking diet pills would not give me that image. If I took diet pills it would tell them to take the easy way out and then do it again after the weight comes back.  In essence I would be teaching them how to become YO-YO dieters.

That is NOT what I want for myself, my girls or any of my family or friends.  I am so happy to have found something so nutritious to be to drink everyday and I give it to my kids and recommend to family. I am not only getting my vitamins but also getting a full meal.  This drink is Shakeology and it's helped me and my husband loss weight, have energy, get regular and too many other benefits to list.

By doing my workout daily and eating healthy regularly I am now showing my girls a balanced view of eating and exercising. This is a balance many try to find, I hope that showing them early in life they will have a healthy self-image and be happy with themselves.
So these articles about Strength training and Eating are really great and I hope it helps you, like it has for me.

Why Strength Train?Kathy Smith

Still not convinced you should strength train? Here's a good reason. After the age of 30, we all lose a quarter pound of muscle mass each year. Yikes! With less muscle, our metabolism slows down and we gain fat—averaging about 15 pounds a decade. While muscle is metabolically active (each pound of muscle burns approximately 35 to 50 calories per day), stored fat is not, burning far fewer calories. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn throughout the day, whether you're walking, vacuuming . . . even sleeping! What's more, while aerobic activity burns fat during exercise, weight training utilizes fat hours after exercising, so your metabolism stays slightly elevated for a longer period of time following a strength-training session than following an aerobic workout.

The Hunger Scale On a hunger scale that ranges from 1 (you're starving) to 10 (you're stuffed), if you aim to stay between 4 and 6, your eating should remain under control. Two ways to help this are eating early before you feel hungry, and stopping eating as soon as you're not hungry, never waiting until you feel full.

So eating right and exercising are the ONLY Real help you need to maintain a happy Healthy Life.
I enjoy hearing from you, please leave a comment if you like this post.

This is why I'm trying to get Healthy. Very Scary.

During the past 20 years, there has been a dramatic increase in obesity in the United States and rates remain high. In 2010, no state had a prevalence of obesity less than 20%. Thirty-six states had a prevalence of 25% or more; 12 of these states (Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia) had a prevalence of 30% or more.

Why Beachbody??

When I was looking to maybe become a Beachbody coach, I just didn't know if I wanted to get back into a network marketing business.  I was a successful Mary Kay Consultant but with much Hard work. I ofcourse talked it over with my Husband and he was supportive of whatever I wanted to do.
I finally decided, after about a week "Yup, I'm gonna do it!"  If for nothing else, at least get back in shape.  Then I got excited :)
Kristi (my sponsoring coach) started helping me get my website set up and explained that I should log in my workouts Daily. So this is what I started doing. I didn't have the beachbody program I had ordered, yet.  So I used what I had.
I got all the support I needed from Kristi and others on the Team. I took time to get to know how the business works and got my first check.  From my research I understood this check is part of the  multiple ways we get paid as coaches.  Even though I hadn't started working yet, I got a Team Bounus check.  I was overjoyed!  So cool! I had never experienced this from another network business before.
I was hooked. Yes I do have to put some time and effort into my business everyday, this way I treat my Business as a Business.  I love Helping my Customers that I get from the company.  As well as others around me.  This decision to  become a Beachbody Coach has changed my life for the better.  I have improved myself physically and my family has followed.  I have also seen financial gains. This opportunity has allowed me to Keep Staying Home to Home School my Kids. I am looking forward to take some more financial burden Off my Hard working Army Husband. I know I can and will succeed!

Time to ReCommit

Ok, so for the last month I've been doing some workouts with my husband.  The 10 minute Trainer.  Which is great, I love that he or we can get a full work out in 10 minutes.  So awesome for those really busy days.  But I find myself missing the very energetic Chalene, so I am going to do another round of TurboFire!!

I think this will be a great way to get me Ready for P90X2!! So  excited to try this because I never tried P90X.  From the information I heard listening to Tony Horton talking about the New X2 it is for anyone that has completed any of the Extreme programs (P90X, Insanity, Asylum, TurboFire.)  Also it is great for any athletes or former athletes.

I can't wait to see how far I can push myself.  Even now, almost daily I get all giddy when I notice my new muscles.  I can see my biceps in the mirror as I brush my teeth.  I can feel my thighs getting firmer every time I put on my pants.  This is especially exciting because I have always HATED my big butt and thighs.  (Glad I married a butt man =) )

Anyway, the point is I have been living healthier since April 2011.  In this short amount of time I have seen results that I love!  What gets me even MORE excited and motivated is when I help someone else get started and then they start feeling great and see results.  This is Such a wonderful Feeling that no amount of money can buy.

I hope to be able to help any and all that would like to feel as good as I do now.   It is possible and you don't have to do it alone.  I have had help and support and I want to pass it on.  So Here I am.  I am RE-Commiting Myself let me know if you would like to Join Me!!
In this together!
Have a Happy and Healthy day!

Progress Slow/ 4 ways to measure it!

I like so many others, go first to the scale to measure how much weight has been lost. Then usually we are disappointed to see no change or maybe it has gone up a pound. This is the time Not to stop trying but to start using a different method to measure your progress.

4 Other ways to Measure Your Progress

  1. Go to your Closet.  This is a great way to see how far you've come.  We all have an old pair of Jeans that we "Will fit into one of these days".  Try them on.  I did this and was so amazed and it kept me on the right track. It could work for you as well.
  2. Use other Numerical Signs.  Get out the tape measure.  Measuring your body is more reliable than just using the scale.
  3. Keep track of how your new lifestyle has improved your daily life.   Is going up the stairs easier? Have you saved money by buying healthier options?  A journal might help with figuring this out.
  4. Be Conscious of  your Emotions.  You have worked hard to reach your goals. We All want to be happy and feel confident. Are you feeling better about yourself?  Have you begun feeling like your self-esteem is coming back? If so, then I say you have won the weight loss game.
Keep doing your best your on the right track!  Don't give in to frustration! All your healthy behaviors are well worth the effort!!
If anyone needs help Please let me know, That's why I'm here.
 Comments are always appreciated. Thanks

What Is Shakeology And Why Should I Try It?

I have never been and am not trying to become a salesperson. My goal is to help everyone reach their potential and just maybe go beyond, whatever that goal may be. What I am is a person that is loving what I do and what I drink for a supplement. I have been using Shakeology since April. It has been such a great product for me and my husband as well as for friends/clients that I do not like to go a day without it.

Thatbeing said, yes I know, it is expensive. I completely get that. I was hesitant to try it because I was on unemplyment and was just getting by. However, when Kristi told me she had seen her grocery bill drop, I decided to try it. Also, I figured I would get free shipping by ordering on Auto Ship (save money) and if I didn't like it I would cancel after 30 days and get my money back. I thought what do I have to lose? 30 days of free meals and if I don't get results I can get a full refund. But after using it a month, I was hooked and have been using Shakeology ever since.

The two most common questions I get regarding Shakeology are:

1. “What can I use as a substitute for Shakeology?”

2. “Why is it so expensive?”

These are great questions. I always try to give all my honest feedback on every product, whether good or bad. I am not trying to sell anyone on products that I do not use myself or spend my own money on. Now, on that note, let me answer these questions for you about Shakeology.

Q1: What can I use as a substitute for Shakeology?

A1: Nothing. There is not anything at ALL on the market today that is a substitute or can even compare to Shakeology. I have looked and looked for something that can compare. If I found something I would definitely talk about it. I am happy and willing to compare many of the beachbody products to other products and analyze cost, ingredients, effectiveness, etc. Other than Shakeology, the real thing, there isn't a substitution or anything that compares out there.

If you live outside the US I know you can't get Shakeology. Beachbody is working hard on customs clearance to export Shakeology, but the ingredient list is the big hold up. Shakeology has some of the most amazing food sources, yet most rare in the world, all put together in one shake. EVERY ingredient in Shakeology has to get customs clearance before your country will let Shakeology in as an import. With the large list of ingredients the red tape is slowing the process down.

In the meantime, make sure you are getting enough protein (supplement of whey protein) and make sure that you get a variety of nutrient rich food daily-berries, veggies.. Variety of nutrient dense foods is key to a healthy diet.

And the MOST COMMON question I hear daily relates to COST. Believe me, I had the same question when I purchased Shakeology for the first time.

Q2: Is Shakeology worth the cost? What is in it that makes it worth $120? Why is Shakeology so expensive?

A2: I am not a Shakeology pusher, I am simply a firm believer in Shakeology as someone who uses it daily.

First let's look at Shakeology from a cost perspective-
Shakeology costs $120 for a 30 day supply as a customer. It is $89 as a coach. It is about twice as much as a tub of whey protein for a coach and three times as much as whey protein for a customer. But Shakeology does not compare to whey protein... That is like comparing a house to wood. I would expect to pay more a house, much more, than I would pay for wood. Wouldn't you? (pun intended) Because wood is one component of a house. A house has fixtures, foundation, floors, plumbing pipes, etc. (You probably guessed) Shakeology is like the house, while whey protein is like the wood. Whey protein is awesome, but Shakeology has hundreds (seriously check out the ingredients) of ingredients as well as whey protein, which have all been combined in the right combinations and the right amounts to give us the best possible way for our bodies to absorb and utilize the nutrients. Which gives us the best possible way to fuel our body each day. So I would EXPECT to pay a good bit more for Shakeology than I would pay for whey protein.

I see people misconceive that Shakeology is going to add $120 (or $89) to their monthly expenses if they use it. This is not true at all. When I started spending $89 each month on Shakeology I simply reallocated what I was already spending on food/supplements each month to spend it on Shakeology instead of whatever else I was spending money on. For me, my food bill decreased because I was eating less foods that carried no nutritional value and replacing it with Shakeology. My cravings decreased and my spending was allocated towards the healthier option, Shakeology.

We all spend money each month to put food in our mouths. What would we trade to put Shakeology in our mouths? TO change the way we look and feel? I have actually started to save money now compared to the habits I had before purchasing Shakeology each month.

Example:
1) How many times per week/month do you eat lunch out and how much are you spending on average per lunch out? I ate out at least 3 times per week and spent on average $10 per meal. This is not including the morning coffee runs. Simply trading that expense for taking a sack lunch can re-allocate enough to buy Shakeology and not spend anymore money per month.

2) How often do you get starbucks or purchase from another local coffee shop? Will you trade coffee for Shakeology for 1 month and see what it does for your health and your pocket book?

3) How often do you purchase a soda or some other habit forming snacl? By giving up those little indulgences of habit I save way more per month than I spend on Shakeology!

4) How much do you spend on your multivitamins, whey protein, other supplements per month? Add it up and you may be spending close to the amount you would spend on Shakeology and not even getting nearly as much benefit as you would from Shakeology, which has protein, vitamins, as well as fruit and vegetable blends from around the world that are simply impossible to find even if you had all day to look for them.

I really believe that Shakeology is the single best thing I use to fuel my body each and every day. I use Shakeology as a meal replacement. I drink it every morning during or after my work out. I no longer have those 3pm lows that I used to get everyday after doing chores and school work with the girls. My energy levels are sustained throughout the day. Something that my normal diet and vitamins before Shakeology, did not give me.

Taking care of myself means rearanging my time and money.
It's so easy to say you can't afford to eat healthy or don't have time to exercise. I used to say the same thing. Now, people ask me how I have the time on a daily basis to do this. I make the choice everyday to be healthy. I re-allocate my time and money to give myself the best chance at success. I hope you do the same. Give yourself the best chance at success!

You might need to Change your Attitude.

I was so upset with myself and my body before I became a Beachbody Coach. I knew and I wanted to change things.  The support I get was what helpped me make the attitude change wich led to my physical change. This is a good article which brings out a point that gets missed.

Making Friends with Your Body: The Roots of High Self-EsteemThere’s no doubt that feeling comfortable in your own skin is an important part of that “feeling-good-about-yourself” goal (also known as high self-esteem) you're trying to achieve. But the more you learn about the roots of self-esteem, the clearer it becomes that what helps the most has very little to do with achieving some abstract ideal, like a certain weight or look. In fact, there are many, many cases where people work very hard on goals like this—and even achieve them—only to find that they're still unsatisfied and unhappy. What does seem to have major, positive effects on self-esteem is the process of moving yourself—the right way—from where you are towards where you would like to be.

The journey is more important than the destination.

To be a little more precise, the best way to increase your self-esteem is to actively and effectively engage in something that is both good for you and consistent with your expressed goals. Both of these are key elements. If your goal isn't good for you, because it's unrealistic or strongly based on what you think other people want or expect from you (like trying to look like a model when your body can’t naturally achieve or maintain that), then you are going to face problems feeling good about yourself. Nothing you do will ever be good enough.

You’ll have the same problem if your actions aren’t consistent with your goals, like going on an unhealthy crash diet to achieve a healthy weight. To feel good about yourself, you have to treat yourself as if you are already someone worthy of respect and good treatment. If that means “faking it until you make it,” then that is where you need to start.

Exercising the “Right” Way, for the “Right” Reasons
If you are carrying a lot of unhelpful baggage in the form of poor body acceptance, negative body image, or even body-rejection due to excess weight, then exercising the right way and for the right reasons may well be your shortest, fastest, and easiest path away from these problems.

But you’ll need a particular kind of attitude and approach, one that will help you begin appreciating your body for what it can do right now, and allowing it to be your guide and teacher on your journey towards change—not an object of your contempt and ridicule. Here are the basic elements of such an attitude:
  • Exercise for the “right” reasons. There aren’t many bad reasons to exercise of course, so in a pinch you should take advantage of whatever gets you going. But certain attitudes and approaches will help you get a better self-esteem boost. It helps a lot, for example, to tell yourself that you are working out because it is good for your body and you want to take good care of your body. When you do that, you affirm that you and your body are friends—not enemies—and you open yourself up for healthy communication with your body, allowing it to tell you what you need. This will work much better than setting out to burn calories so you can get rid of all that ugly fat you can’t stand.

Make your Workouts , Work for You!

One of the most important components of a healthy lifestyle is regular exercise. By incorporating a variety of exercises and activities into your routine, you can help prevent the boredom that comes with doing the same thing each day. Different activities utilize various combinations of muscle groups and intensity levels, therefore burning different amounts of calories per session.

Try some of the ideas below to spice up your workout routine. If you work extra-hard one day, take it easy the next and give your body a chance to recover with a lighter activity.
Source- Sparkpeople

This is what I LOVE about the Beachbody workout programs. They have it all set up for us to just follow the schedule. You do a hard workout one day then the next it's easier or a different muscle group. This is why I've seen the results that I have. I am SOOOO Happy to have found Beachbody.

Does Eating Fat make me FAT?

Decades ago, a completely wrong-headed idea started being passed around America's dinner tables: Eating fat makes you fat.

Wrong. Eating fat won’t make you fat, any more than eating money will make you rich. Calories make you fat, and most “low-fat” or “fat-free” foods actually have just as many calories as their full-fat versions, because of added sugar and chemicals. And there’s no debate on this one: Since we made “cut down on fat” our favorite food craze roughly 30 years ago, the U.S. obesity rate has doubled. Among children, it has tripled. That’s a failed food policy if ever there was one. Source- FitBie.com

WE see so many products now that are "Fat Free", "Low Fat", or "Reduced Fat", well some have taken these to mean that it's OK to maybe eat a few more beacuse "well it's Fat Free!"  Instead of make us healthier these are makeing more people gain weight and they just can't understand WHY??
We have to be fully aware of what goes into our mouth. This is why keeping a food journal comes in handy. It makes us see the complete picture. And yes even I have been blinded and astonished at how much I've eaten in a day.
Healthy Eating to YOU!

WoW! So excited !

HI- My name is Yvette and I am a Independent Team Beachbody Coach.  =)
I am having so much fun being a coach. I am trying new things like this. I never thought I would make a blog.
Anyway a little about me.
I am a loving Army wife, mother of 2 homeschooled girls and a health and fitness coach with Beachbody.   I became a coach in April because I like many other Mom's had found it difficult to lose weight and keep it off.  Two years ago I worked at a job I didn't like then I found out I was pregnant. It was not expected, it acctually happened during a Cleanse. I was trying to lose some weight and went and bought some pills to do a Cleanse. Well it really cleaned me out birth control pills included. So after the shock and accepting I would be a mom again. Then I had complications and ultimatley lost the baby. SO heartbreaking :(  not just for me but the whpole family. During this aweful time there were times I wanted to leave work early but was not granted permission. Even though they new what I was going through. ( Very difficult to work for a woman with no kids)  Well a few month later I was laid off and even though it was hard to swallow at first. I was happy to home for my family.
With no work to be found after such a long time I decided to take matters into my own hands and start my Beachbody busines and I am so happy I did. Even my girls tell me they are happy that I now work from home.
I hope to help people that want to reach their Health and Fitness even Financial Goals.
