Rock what you got!

Hey all!  How are you doing?  Are you working out??  Are you needing to buy new clothes because the ones you have are Too big?!?
I hope you have this problem! :)  If not yet, that's a great goal to have.

So, I did have this issue and of course I had to go out shopping.  As I was trying on different pants, sizes and styles.  I realized I had 3 different sizes.  Before I lost my weight I would have just been soo adamant about not trying the bigger size and then would have felt so discouraged about not fitting into the smaller size. The outcome would have been - Go home with NOTHING!

Have YOU ever done this??   Ya, you know you have.  Ugh, what a waist of time, right?

Well, I have worked so long and hard on getting into the best health and physical shape that I can, That it didn't even bother me!  What an epiphany!  HUM!  Feel great in clothes no matter what size they are.  AAHH!  It  feels great to get to this place.  I went home with All 3 sizes. =D
You see, I have come to realize it's not always ME. It really depends on the cut, style and the brand.

All I ask is Please, don't get caught up on the Size!  If you feel good in it and it fits you well, then that's all that really matters.

Stay on your Health and Fitness goals!  I just hope you will not be too hard on yourself.  Celebrate your Achievements!  If it's not the size you really want to fit into that's OK, for now.  Don't give up on yourself.

What Triggers you to eat??

Emotional triggers. So many of us have them.
Last month my family went through a very serious ordeal and I noticed that Stress was a trigger for me.
I was in and out of the hospital and ate awful.  I snacked on junk and I felt horrible physically for it. Like the Stress wasn't enough!?!?

So I thought this would be a good subject to talk about. What are your triggers?

Here are some triggers you've probably already figured out;

  1. A Fight / argument- with someone you love.
  2. Feeling overwhelmed- work, home, kids. Whatever it may be.
  3. Stress/ Anxiety- let's face it, it's everywhere. =(
Okay, so we know these can be triggers to emotional eating. Now, What do we do about it?
Well one Big Key is just this. Identifying YOUR Trigger!
Once you know what your triggers are you can work on changing them.
This is where you start in breaking this cycle. Now you can start Regaining control of Why, When and How you eat!
The best way to do this is: Keep a food journal!
Food journals are amazing for helping you regain control of your life and what you  nourish your body with. Once you can do a thorough self-examination you Will take control of your eating habits and Stop or at least Control the Emotional eating triggers!

Go regain control.

Tips on Portion Control !?!

I've heard a lot of talk about Portion Control lately.   My family and friends are having a difficult time with this, as are many others. 
I have also needed to learn how to control the amount of food I eat.  Hear are some tips that helped me and hopefully help you also!


  1. Use a smaller plate or bowl. 
  2. Order the Small when eating out.
  3. Share! - If we bought desert we would all share only ONE (me and my 2 girls)
  4. Put more veggies than pasta / rice on your plate. 
  5. Actually Measure out your Food. - you might be surprised!
  6. Drink a glass of water before eating.
  7. Snack Smart. - keep fruits and veggies at hand
  8. Buy a food scale.

I know we are all very busy.  You just need to try one or two of these tips at a time.  When you get used to one then try another. Pretty soon you'll be losing weight and feeling great. 

Also I found this very helpful chart on WebMD.  
Basics Guidelines:
1 cup = baseball size
1/2 cup = lightbulb
1 oz / 2 tbsp = golf ball
3 oz meat/ chicken = deck of cards
3 oz fish = checkbook
